I am woefully behind on my birthday letters to the kids, so I'm hoping to catch up sometime over the next couple of weeks and deal with the fact that they are neither sequential nor timely.  That's just the way it is.

As if there hasn't been enough going on this week, Hayden had to go and turn fourteen today.  It's almost too much to handle.  I can't tell you how much joy this child brings me.

Yesterday was my birthday, which meant that it was also my dad's birthday!  Even though each year we both are supposedly getting one year older, I feel like I'm closing the gap between my age and my dad's!  Or, as my mom so eloquently put it, "You know you are truly old when your "children" are approaching their fifties!"
